A R.I.D.E CHECK RESULTED IN ONE DRIVER CHARGE


(WEST NIPISSING, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged one driver at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program.

On Friday September 19, 2025, at approximately 11:55 pm, members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP, were conducting a R.I.D.E. program on Highway 539, West Nipissing.

Officers checked 20 vehicles and charged one driver.

As a result of the investigation, Jacques GUENETTE, 51 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with, failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday October 2, 2025, in North Bay.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
