(HALDIMAND COUNTY) - A driver is facing charges after an Automated Licence Plate Reader (ALPR) notification alerted police in Haldimand County.

On November 16, 2025, at approximately 9:35 pm, a member of the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol and was alerted by the ALPR of a traffic infraction on Indiana Road.

A traffic stop was initiated; however, the driver fled the scene. Police later located the individual, and they were subsequently taken into custody.

Shayne GRAHAM, 53-years-old of York has been charged with the following offences:

• Dangerous Operation
• Flight From Peace Officer
• Operation While Prohibited Under the Criminal Code (three counts)
• Failure to Comply with Release Order (two counts)
• Drive While Child Passenger Not Properly Secured
• Driving While Under Suspension (five counts)
• Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on November 20, 2025.
