Another Driving Complaint Nets Impaired Driver After Investigation by OPP


(MIDLAND, ON)- Another report of a possible impaired driver by a community member to the OPP Communication Centre this time on Highway 93, Tiny Township has resulted in an impaired driving investigation of a Midland resident by officers of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

At approximately 2:15 pm June 5, 2025 an officer was dispatched to investigate the complaint and shortly thereafter located and stopped the suspect red Dodge pick up on Highway 12, Midland near the Detachment.

The officer spoke with the driver and entered into an impaired driving investigation resulting in 30 year old Brock THERRIEN being charged criminally with the following driving offences.

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on June 19, 2025, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.
