ARREST WARRANT SOUGHT IN COTTAGE BREAK-IN


(ADDINGTON HIGHLANDS TWP, ON) - Investigators are seeking an arrest warrant after a cottage break-in along the shore of Skootamatta Lake, in Addington Highlands.

On Thursday, July 31, 2025, just before 10:30 am, officers with the Lennox and Addington County (LAC) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported break-in. A cottage owner, who was not present, had observed the break-in happen live on home surveillance video.

An officer, who arrived quickly in the area, located a suspect, but the male fled on foot into the bush. The male is also wanted on outstanding warrants, including weapons offences. There was no risk to the general public.

Additional officers, including members of the OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Units then converged on the area to begin a search. An OPP helicopter and OPP remotely piloted aerial system (drone) was also utilized.

Despite the intensive search, the male was not located.

An arrest warrant will be issued, and the individual is urged to turn himself in to police.
