(RAINY RIVER OPP) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Treaty Three Police Service (TTPS) have arrested and charged one male with Arson and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.

On October 8th, 2025, at 03:35 hrs, Rainy River OPP received a call for service from Kenora Fire, advising of a structural fire on a cabin in Lake of the Woods Township. When police arrived on scene, the cabin, along with a vehicle parked in the driveway, had been completely burnt down. Further investigation by the OPP and TTPS led to the arrest of one male.

As a result, Barry BRASS, 23, of Big Grassy First Nation, was charged with

• Arson - Damage to Property - Sec. 434 CC
• Arson - Damage to Own Property - Sec. 434.1 CC
