(BONNECHERE VALLEY TWP. ON) - One person is facing charges after an assault in Bonnechere Valley Township.

On Sunday, September 7, 2025, shortly before 2:00 pm, officers with the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a location on Zadow Line. A woman had been assaulted in an apparent dispute over trespassing and damage to a fence. There were no serious injuries reported.

When officers arrived, they located an arrested an individual.

As a result of the investigation, Charles-Antoine BLAIS, age 21 of Petawawa has been charged with:

• Assault
• Operation while impaired - drugs
• Mischief - destroys or damages property

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on October 7, 2025.
