(RENFREW, ON) - The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to an assault call in the Town of Arnprior.

On Sunday, July 20, 2025, at approximately 3:20 pm, Renfrew OPP officers responded to an assault call on Wolfe Crescent in the Town of Arnprior. Given the situation the public was asked to avoid the area. 

As a result of the investigation, a 20-year old from Arnprior was charged with:

• Assault with a weapon
• Assault cause bodily harm- choke, suffocate or strangle
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Take motor vehicle without consent
• Assault

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
