(BANCROFT, ON) - The Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a youth in connection with breaching conditions of a release order.
On August 14, 2025, at approximately 8:25 pm, an officer from the Bancroft OPP observed a youth on Hastings Street in the Town of Bancroft who was known to be bound by an Undertaking with specific conditions. The youth was alleged to be in contravention of one of those conditions.
As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old from Bancroft has been charged with:
- Failure to Comply with Undertaking - contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the Criminal Code
The youth was held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
The identity of the accused is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) and will not be released.
