BANCROFT OPP LAY IMPAIRED CHARGES AFTER TRAFFIC COMPLAINT
(BANCROFT, ON) - Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person with impaired operation.
On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at approximately 8:30 pm, Bancroft OPP officers received a complaint of an overdue vehicle that had also had a traffic complaint in the Peterborough area. A short time later officers located the vehicle and observed driving behaviour often displayed by impaired drivers, a traffic stop was conducted. The driver was arrested for impaired and was transported to the detachment for further testing. The results of the test showed the driver to having almost 3 times the legal limit of alcohol in their body.
Rachel HOGG, a 28-year-old resident of Brooklyn, has been charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on January 6, 2026.
