BARRICADED PERSON INCIDENT  

One in custody

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) - Large police presence in Mildmay results in one person taken into custody. 

On July 24, 2025, at approximately 2:54 pm, South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a barricaded person at a Peter Street residence in Mildmay, Municipality of South Bruce.

Police contained the area with the assistance of the West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), and OPP Canine. Crisis Negotiators and Bruce County Paramedic Services were also on scene.

At approximately 5:20 pm, one individual was taken into custody. The incident has resolved and resources are clearing. There was no threat to public safety.
