BLUE MOUNTAIN OPP CHARGE DRIVER TRAVELLING 129KM/H IN A COMMUNITY SAFETY ZONE


(BLUE MOUNTAIN, ON) - Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver, aged 34 from Caledon, with stunt driving following a traffic stop on Grey Road 2 in Ravenna, Town of The Blue Mountains.

Just after 11 AM on Thursday, October 23, 2025, an officer conducting speed enforcement on Grey Road 2 in a 50 km/h community safety zone in Ravenna observed a vehicle travelling northbound at an extremely high rate of speed. The vehicle’s speed was recorded at 129 km/h in a posted 50 km/h community safety zone.

A 34 year-old male from Caledon was charged with Speeding - community safety zone, contrary to section 128 under the Highway Traffic Act and Stunt Driving - Excessive Speed - Community Zone, contrary to section 172(1). The vehicle was impounded for 14 days and driver’s licence suspended for 30 days.

The driver is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on November 24, 2025.
