BRAMPTON RESIDENT CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION-RELATED OFFENCES
(DUFFERIN COUNTY) - Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Brampton resident with impaired operation-related offences following a traffic complaint.
On December 20, 2025, shortly before 3:30 pm, Dufferin OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint involving a vehicle reportedly doing donuts in the area of Gooseberry Street in the Town of Orangeville. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle in a ditch. After speaking with the driver, officers initiated an impaired driving investigation as a result of the interaction.
Jobanpreet DHALIWAL, a 20-year-old male from Brampton, has been charged with the following offences:
- Fail to surrender insurance card
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- CC 320.14(1)(a) Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available
- Young driver - B.A.C. above zero
- Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero
- Drive motor vehicle - Perform stunt
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. As a result of the incident, the individual’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
