(CENTRAL HURON, ON) - The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a break-in at a residential property in the Municipality of Central Huron, several kilometres south of the Town of Goderich. 

On Saturday, November 08, 2025, just after 06:00 am, Huron OPP officers were contacted about a break and enter in progress. Police arrived on scene minutes later and observed evidence of a break-in to an outbuilding, however the suspect(s) and vehicle had fled the area. Video surveillance from that morning showed two suspects and a vehicle on the victim’s property.

Stolen from the property was a tan-coloured safe approximately four feet in height, weighing over 300 pounds. Inside the safe was an expansive coin collection including coins from all over the world. Numerous Canadian Mint coin sets in packages were part of the collection.

The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model dark-coloured sport utility vehicle (SUV) with chrome rims and a trailer hitch receiver, (still images attached).

Investigators are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the vehicle involved and the person(s) responsible for this crime.
