(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) -The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested an individual following an assault.

On July 17, 2025, shortly after 5:30 pm, officers received a complaint regarding the incident on Elizabeth Street in the Municipality of Brighton. A dispute arose between two persons and there were no injuries reported.

As a result, Shane TIGHE (50), from the Municipality of Brighton, has been charged with:

The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in August.
