BURLINGTON OPP INVESTIGATING ATTEMPTED CAR JACKING ON HIGHWAY 403 IN HAMILTON
(BURLINGTON, ON) - Members from the Burlington Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating an attempted car jacking that occurred in the westbound lanes of highway 403 near Alberton Rd in the City of Hamilton at approximately 12:30 am on Monday, September 15, 2025.
The victim was travelling in a dark stretch of the 403 westbound in Hamilton when they observed a vehicle behind with flashing, bright lights. The victim pulled to the shoulder believing they were being pulled over by the Police. The male suspect then approached the victim’s vehicle with what was believed to be a chisel in his hand and yelled at the victim to exit the vehicle. The suspect was unsuccessful in starting the vehicle and left in their original vehicle.
The suspect was described as a dark-skinned male wearing a blue surgical face mask and a baseball hat.
The victim was unable to provide an accurate description of the suspect vehicle.
This investigation is being conducted by the Burlington OPP, with the assistance of the OPP Highway Safety Division Crime Unit.
