BUS STOPPED TWICE FOR DRIVING ON CLOSED HIGHWAY
(KINCARDINE, ON) - On December 29, 2025, at approximately 10:30 pm, a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a coach bus which was stuck along Highway 21 in the Municipality of Kincardine.
At this point, Highway 21 had been closed for a number of hours due to weather conditions making the road unsafe for travel. The bus operator, a 45-year-old from Walkerton, was charged with Drive on closed highway, contrary to section 134(3) of the Highway Traffic Act.
On December 30, 2025, at approximately 7:40 am, the South Bruce OPP received a call from a concerned passenger of the bus as the driver was once again travelling on Highway 21; which was still closed. Police located the bus in Tiverton and charged the same driver again with drive on closed highway.
