(CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP, ON)  - The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving related charges after a single-vehicle collision.

On June 2, 2025, shortly after 2:00 pm, Huronia West OPP officers responded to a call for assistance with a female in a vehicle on Fairgrounds Road North, in Clearview Township.

Officers attended and while speaking with the involved driver, formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by drugs, leading to an arrest. As a result of the investigation, April Ann BYERS, 45-year-old of Collingwood, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

  • Operation while Impaired - Alcohol and drugs
  • Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Collingwood on June 24, 2025, to answer to the charges.
