(CARLETON PLACE, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.
Lanark County OPP officers began an investigation of intimate partner violence on Sunday, August 31, 2025. Information was received that a male was flying into Ottawa with the intention of locating the complainant. The male was intercepted by police at the Ottawa International Airport and arrested.
As a result of investigation, a 41-year-old man from Ottawa has been charged with:
- Criminal harassment - two counts
- Breach of recognizance
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
