(DRUMMOND-NORTH ELMSLEY TWP, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers began an investigation on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

As a result, a 45-year-old male from Almonte has been charged with:

• Assault
• Sexual assault

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth in October.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
