(CARLETON PLACE, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers began an investigation on Saturday, October 18, 2025. The investigation involves incidents between 2015 and present.

As a result of investigation, a 33-year-old male from Jasper has been charged with:

• Assault
• Assault with a weapon - two counts
• Sexual assault
• Uttering threats - Cause death or bodily harm
• Mischief under $5000

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth at a later time.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
