(LANARK HIGHLANDS TWP, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers began an investigation on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

As a result of investigation, a 60-year-old male from Lanark Highlands Township has been charged with:

• Assault
• Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm or ammunition
• Mischief - destroys or damages property

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth at a later date.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
