(PERTH, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers investigated a complaint of assault in Perth on Friday, June 13, 2025. Officers attended a residence, and the investigation resulted in the arrest of a 52-year-old man.

The male has been charged with:

• Assault with a weapon
• Assault - two counts

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, July 14, 2025.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
