(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers investigated an incident that began in Tay Valley Township on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, and continued until Wednesday June 18, 2025, involving two victims. This resulted in the arrest of an 18-year-old man from Smiths Falls.

The male has been charged with:

• Assault
• Intimidation
• Uttering threats
• Criminal Harassment

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
