(MONTAGUE TWP, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid numerous charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers investigated an incident in Montague Township on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, just before 11:30 pm There were several weapons and suspected cocaine seized at the scene. This resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old man.

The male has been charged with several offences including:

  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Assault
  • Utter threats
  • Mischief
  • Careless storage of firearms, weapons or ammunition
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of prohibited weapons
  • Possession of schedule 1 substance - cocaine

The investigation is continuing at this time.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on July 3, 2025.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
