CHILD LURING INVESTIGATION

39-Year-Old Facing Charges

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) - One individual been arrested and criminally charged in relation to a child luring investigation.

On June 11, 2024, the Wellington Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was contacted as a result of a public complaint. 

As a result of the investigation, on October 15, 2025, the Wellington County OPP Crime Unit arrested and charged Daniel Thomas RIDGEWAY, aged 39 of Guelph-Eramosa Township, with the following Criminal Code offences:

• Possession of child pornography
• Luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunication
• Make prints, publishes or possession for the purpose of publication of any child pornography

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on October 15, 2025.
