COLLISION INVOLVING TRACTOR LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGES


(PERTH EAST, ON) - One person has been charged following a collision involving a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) and farm tractor in the Township of Perth East.

On November 20, 2025 shortly after 8:00 pm the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint involving a CMV. While searching for the vehicle police came across a motor vehicle collision on Perth Line 26 near Perth Road 110 where the CMV had collided with a farm tractor.

No one was injured as a result of the collision.

The driver of the CMV, 54-year-old Clinton JOHNSON of Central Huron was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired
  • Dangerous operation

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on January 5, 2026. The accused is also facing a 90-day drivers licence suspension and a 7-day motor vehicle impoundment.
