(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint for a possible impaired driver in Centre Wellington Township.

On August 23, 2025, at approximately 1:00 pm, members of the Wellington County OPP made patrols and located the vehicle on Wellington Road 21, where a traffic stop was conducted. 

As a result of the investigation, Gerald RENNIE, a 67-year-old from Elora, was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while Impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous Operation

As a result, a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is set to appear on September 26, 2025, at the Guelph Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charges.
