-CORRECTION- SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE CALL LEADS OPP TO FENTANYL POSSESSION INVESTIGATION IN MIDLAND
Clarification on Vehicle Involvement
(MIDLAND, ON) - On March 29, 2025, at approximately 11:54 am, officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Elizabeth Street in Midland.
Officers located the vehicle in question and conducted an investigation. It was determined that the vehicle, which was initially identified in the original media release and later removed in a corrected version, was not involved in the subsequent arrest or related charges. The vehicle was investigated and found not to be suspicious.
A separate investigation in the same area did lead officers to an individual who was wanted on outstanding charges. Upon arrest of that individual, a search resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected fentanyl.
This clarification is issued to confirm that the vehicle referenced in the original release was not connected to the criminal investigation.
