Crash on High Street Sends One Person to Hospital
(COLLINGWOOD, ON) - Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing their investigation into a collision which took place yesterday and sent one person to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
On January 12, 2026, shortly before 1:00 pm officers were dispatched to a collision on High Street between Second Street and Third Street where it was reported that a pedestrian had been struck by a pickup truck. OPP officers immediately closed the roadway for their investigation with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team which included speaking to the driver of the pickup which remained on scene. Investigation has found that the pickup truck was north bound on High Street when the collision took place.
The pedestrian, a 69-year-old male from Collingwood, was transported by ambulance to an area hospital and later transferred to a Toronto area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
