-UPDATE # 1- DEATH INVESTIGATION IN WEST ELGIN

No Foul Play Suspected

(WEST ELGIN, ON) - A recent sudden death in the Municipality of West Elgin is not being treated as suspicious.

On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at approximately 4:42 pm, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Elgin County Detachment along with Fire and Paramedic Services responded to an address on Mary Street in West Elgin, where officers located a deceased individual.

The Elgin County OPP Crime Unit along with the OPP Forensic Identification Services, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service have determined that the death is not suspicious and no foul play is suspected.
