DECEASED LOCATED FOLLOWING APARTMENT FIRE IN CLARENCE-ROCKLAND


(CLARENCE-ROCKLAND, ON) - Members of the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a fire at an apartment building in Clarence-Rockland.

On Sunday, November 16, 2025, at approximately 7:00 pm, Russell County OPP officers were dispatched to a fire at an apartment building on Laurier Street. Officers attended the scene alongside the Clarence-Rockland Fire Department. The fire was quickly extinguished and contained to a single apartment.

During the response, fire officials advised police that a deceased individual had been located inside the apartment.

The Office of the Chief Coroner (OCC), the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM), and the OPP Forensic Identification Services attended to assist with the investigation. The incident and death have been determined to be non-suspicious in nature.
