DISTURBANCE IN HAWKESBURY RESULTS IN ARREST AND CHARGES


(HAWKESBURY, ON) - A disturbance in Hawkesbury has led to an arrest and charges.

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, just before 9:00 pm, officers with the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded when it was reported that someone was banging on a door and appeared to be in distress. The male was not known to the home’s occupants.

The male refused to identify himself to the officers and became aggressive. During his arrest, the male struck one officer in the head and fled on foot. He was taken into custody a short time later but then kicked another officer.

 Joel VALLEE, age 37 of Montreal, has been charged with:

  • Assaulting a peace officer - two counts
  • Obstruct a peace officer
  • Trespass at night

The accused was eventually released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on September 24, 2025.
