(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) - On August 31, 2025, at approximately 2:14 pm, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a male damaging parking gates at a local hospital along 2nd Street Southeast in Chesley.
Police attended the area and located a male fitting the description provided. They were placed under arrest and held for a bail hearing and later released from custody.
On September 7, 2025, at approximately 11:42 pm, the South Bruce OPP responded to a disturbance at an address along 2nd Avenue Southeast in Chesley. The same individual is alleged to have uttered threats to a resident. A warrant was executed on September 8, 2025, and the individual was taken into custody.
Between both incidents, Johnathan LEWIS, 49-years-old, resident of Chesley, has been charged with:
- Mischief, CC 430(1)(d)
- Breach of Recognizance, CC 811 (two counts)
- Uttering threats, 264.1(1)(a)
- Fail to comply with probation order, 733.1(1)
The accused was held for a bail hearing on September 9, 2025, and subsequently released from custody, to reappear at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice on September 24, 2025, to answer to the charges.
