DRIVER AIR LIFTED FROM CRASH SCENE

(DOURO-DUMMER TOWNSHIP, ON) - Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were dispatched to a report of a serious collision that closed County Road 4 in Douro-Dummer.

Just prior to 2:00pm on Thursday January 8, 2026, the Peterborough County OPP and emergency crews were notified of a collision that had taken place on County Road 4 south of County Road 6 in Douro-Dummer Township. 

Officers, EMS and Fire all arrived on scene to find two vehicles with significant damage. A southbound sport utility vehicle (SUV) had collided with a delivery van that was pulling out on to the road from a residence. The driver of the SUV suffered serious injuries and as a result, was airlifted from the scene by ORNGE Air. A passenger in the SUV, as well as the driver of the van, were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

County Road 4 remained closed between Caves Road and County Road 6 while officers and emergency crews dealt with the collision, and vehicles were removed from the scene.
