(ORILLIA, ON) - Officers from the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with criminal and provincial charges after a vehicle stop at a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program.
On September 19, 2025, just before 1:30 am, officers were conducting a RIDE program on Atherley Road in the City of Orillia. A vehicle entered the RIDE program and began speaking with officers. Upon speaking to the driver, the officer entered into a impaired operation investigation which resulted in their arrest at the scene. The driver was transported back to the Orillia OPP Detachment where further testing was completed by a Drug Recognition Officer (DRE).
As a result of the investigation, Malach MORGAN, 23-year-old from Barrie, has been charged with the following:
- Operation while Impaired - alcohol and drugs (CC), - Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available (CCA), and
- Novie driver - presence of drug (HTA)
The accused was released with a future court date. Additionally, their driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for 7 days.
