DRIVER ARRESTED FOR IMPAIRED
(CHATSWORTH, ON) The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an Owen Sound resident following an impaired driving investigation in the Township of Chatsworth.
On January 5, 2026, at approximately 7:24 am, a Grey Bruce OPP officer was travelling southbound on Highway 10 near Sideroad 60 when they observed a vehicle travelling southbound in the northbound lane. The officer conducted a traffic stop and, following further investigation, the driver was placed under arrest.
Srikumar THEKKEPURAKKAL DASAN, 49 years old, from Owen Sound, has been charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:
- Impaired Operation - Alcohol
- Impaired Operation - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous Operation
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 22, 2026.
