(SOUTH PORCUPINE, ON) - A driver stopped at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) program is arrested for impaired.
On Thursday, June 12, 2025, at approximately 10:30 pm, South Porcupine Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) set up a RIDE spot check on Highway 101, German Township, East of Timmins.
As a result of the investigation, Eugene LWANGA, 28 years-old, of Brandon, Manitoba was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
