DRIVER CHARGED FOR STUNT DRIVING

(GUELPH, ON) - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Guelph resident with stunt driving.

On June 23, 2025, at approximately 10:00 am, members of the Wellington County OPP Traffic Management Unit were conducting proactive traffic enforcement and observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, which led to a traffic stop being initiated on the Hanlon Parkway North within Guelph.

As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old from Guelph is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Speeding 50+ km/h over posted limit
  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
  • Drive while passenger under 16 fails to properly wear a seat belt

Anyone charged with drive motor vehicle - perform stunt receives a 14-day vehicle impoundment and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court - Guelph, at a later date.
