DRIVER CHARGED FOR STUNT DRIVING

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Guelph resident with stunt driving, amongst other provincial charges.

On September 23, 2025, at approximately 1:45 am, members of the Wellington County OPP were performing a proactive traffic enforcement initiative, when a motor vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed, to which a traffic stop was conducted on Wellington Road 7, within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old of Guelph is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed - community zone
  • Speeding 50+ Km/h over posted limit
  • Entire plate not plainly visible

Anyone charged with ‘drive motor vehicle - perform stunt’ receives a 14-day impoundment and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.

Drivers should be aware that fines can be doubled in designated Community Safety Zones.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court - Guelph at a later date.
