DRIVER CHARGED WITH DANGEROUS OPERATION AND STUNT DRIVING

(SUDBURY, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver with dangerous operations and stunt driving.

On Friday December 5, 2025, at approximately 4:00 pm, the Sudbury Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E) Team of the OPP observed a vehicle travelling over 50 kilometre per hour (km/h) in a  posted 90 km/h zone on Highway 17, Sudbury.

No injuries were reported when the driver attempted to avoid police and collided into a post.

As a result of the investigation, Jeffery SMITH, 36 years-of-age, from Markstay-Warren, was charged with, dangerous operation and drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday February 18, 2026, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 30 day Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
