DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING AFTER VEHICLE HITS PATIO

Fence and patio damaged in collision

(GREATER NAPANEE, ON) - Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person with impaired driving related charges following a collision.

On Saturday January 10, 2026, shortly after 4:00 am, L&A County OPP members were advised a collision on Dundas Street West in Greater Napanee involving a possible impaired driver. Police attended and observed that a single vehicle had crashed through a fence and into the patio of a residence, following an investigation, the driver was arrested.

Clarence SMITH, an 18-year-old from Greater Napanee, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus
  • Novice driver - BAC above zero

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on January 27, 2026. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded.
