(GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) - On August 16, 2025, at approximately 8:20 pm, members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting general patrol duties on Highway 10 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands when they observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.
A traffic stop was initiated, and officers detected signs of impairment from the driver. An Approved Screening Device was administered, resulting in a FAIL. The driver was arrested and transported to the Markdale OPP Detachment for further testing.
Kyle WOOD, 33-years-old, of Grey Highlands, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act, and Automobile Insurance Act Offences:
- Operation while impaired- (80 plus) CC
- Adult Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit HTA
- Speeding 1-49 Km/h over posted limit HTA
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance CAIA
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on September 4, 2025.
