(THAMES CENTRE, ON) - Driver charged with stunt driving on Highway 401 in Thames Centre.
On June 18, 2025, at 9:37 pm, a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol in the Eastbound lanes of Highway 401 in Thames Centre, observed a vehicle travelling well in excess of 50km/h over the posted 100 km/h speed limit.
A traffic stop was initiated.
As a result, a 22-year-old of London, was placed under arrest and has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed
The driver’s licence has been suspended for 30 days and the vehicle has been impounded for 14 days.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Provincial Traffic Court to speak to the charges at a later date.
