(BROCKTON, ON) - On July 5, 2025, at approximately 5:08 pm, a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol along Sideroad 10 South in the Municipality of Brockton.

A vehicle was stopped after it was observed conducting what is commonly referred to as a ‘burnout’, and fishtailing along the roadway. The officer approached the vehicle and found that three young children were in the front passenger seat, none of which secured by car seats or seatbelts.

A 35-year-old resident of Brockton, was charged with:

• Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt, HTA 172(1)
• Drive while child passenger not properly secured, HTA 106(4)(b) - three counts

The vehicle was impounded for 14 days, and the drivers licence was suspended for 30 days.

The accused is set to appear on August 5, 2025, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charges.
