DRIVER FACES CHARGES FOR STUNT DRIVING

(GUELPH, ON) - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Mississauga resident with two provincial charges stemming from a traffic stop.

On August 4, 2025, at approximately 10:15 pm, members of the Wellington County OPP were performing a traffic enforcement initiative and observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, to which a traffic stop was initiated on the Hanlon Parkway within the City of Guelph.

As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old from Mississauga is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
  • Speeding 1 - 49 km/h over posted limit

Anyone charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt receives a 14-day impoundment and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the provincial offences court - Guelph, at a later date
