DRIVER FACING IMPAIRED CHARGES
(GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) - An individual from Grey Highalnds, Ontario is facing impaired driving-related charges stemming from a citizen calling in a possible impaired driver, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.
On Friday, December 12, 2025, at approximately 12:00 am, the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a possible impaired driver located in a parking lot of a business located in Markdale, Ontario. The concerned citizen advised that an individual was causing a disturbance and observed operating a motor vehicle.
A 17-year-old Grey Highlands resident was charged with the following criminal code offences:
- Operation while Impaired - Alcohol
- Operation while Impaired - 80 plus
The accused, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 13, 2026.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
