DRIVER FACING IMPAIRED CHARGES
(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) - An individual from Owen Sound is facing impaired driving-related charges stemming from a single motor vehicle collision that had occurred on Somers Street, near 16th Street W, in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at approximately 8:00 pm, members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report from a citizen about a pickup truck stuck in a ditch. The citizen believed the driver was impaired. Police attended, identified the driver, and subsequently arrested them.
Corey CARDER, 29-years-old, of Owen Sound, is charged with:
- Operation while Impaired - Alcohol
- Operation while Impaired - 80 plus
- Dangerous Operation
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 22, 2026.
