DRIVER FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES AFTER ALPR ALERT
(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) - In-car camera alert results in multiple charges for driver.
On December 21, 2025, at 3:40 pm, a Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) member, while on general patrol on Littlewood Drive in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, was alerted by the Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system, of possible stolen licence plate on a vehicle.
Police confirmed the licence plates had previously been reported as stolen.
A traffic stop was initiated at which time the driver was placed under arrest.
As a result, Michael CARSON, a 35-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada
- Drive motor vehicle - no licence
- Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in London on January 26, 2026, to speak to the charges.
