(WEST ELGIN, ON) - Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with Dangerous operation and Flight from police.

On Friday, August 29, 2025, at approximately 6:52 pm, Elgin OPP with the assistance from Middlesex OPP, West Region Emergency Response Team and the Canine Unit responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 401 that lead police to an abandoned vehicle in the Municipality of West Elgin. Police arrested an individual without incident.

As a result of the investigation, Nelson AGUEDA, 51-years-old from Leamington was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

• Dangerous operation
• Flight from peace officer

The accused was released on an Undertaking and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
