(ELORA, ON) - Officers from the Wellington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with local fire services and paramedics, responded to a report of a swimmer in distress.

On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at approximately 6:30 pm, Wellington County officers were dispatched to assist EMS at the Elora Quarry.

Emergency crews located one individual who was removed from the water and transported to a local hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, the 24-year-old male was later pronounced deceased.

The investigation remains ongoing.
